Community Spotlight: Cavender Auto Group's Support for Veterans
It’s no secret that here at Cavender Auto Group, we’re big supporters of our San Antonio, TX, community. And as the home of the largest joint base in the Department of Defense, one of our favourite ways to give back to our community is to support our local military personnel and all the brave men and women who serve our country. In the past few months leading up to Veterna’s Day, we’ve been building partnerships with local military organizations and veteran programs while looking for new ways in which we can demonstrate our Cavender Commitment initiative. From providing military discounts and free oil changes to our annual car giveaways to collaborating with local charities, at Cavender Auto Group, we’re dedicated to showing our veterans how thankful we are for their service!
Hollywood Park Police Department’s “Salut to Service”
This past week, Cavender Auto Group was proud to support Hollywood Park Police Department’s unveiling of their “Salute to Service” military and first responder branded vehicle. This vehicle will help bring awareness to the mental health struggles that, unfortunately, many of our military heroes battle every day and help provide a safe space for suicide prevention among our first responders and military members. Community members of the military, as well as local fire and police members, were proudly present at the event. Along with Cavender, several other San Antonio vendors volunteered to provide food, drinks, and other goodies for the successful event!
3rd Annual Car Giveaway
It’s that time of year again! In addition to Veteran’s Day events, charities, and military discounts at our dealerships, just in time for the holidays, we're gearing up for our 3rd annual Military Car Giveaway. This year, we’re giving away a free brand-spanking-new 2024 Chevrolet Malibu MS to a local military member from the San Antonio community. No strings attached or purchase necessary: just great cars for deserving military personnel! Whether you know an active duty military personnel or a retired veteran, we’re asking the good folks of San Antonio, TX, to nominate a hero they think is deserving of a new set of wheels using our online form here. Nominees are able to have 6 registrations, 1 self-nomination and 5 nominations from others. Nominations will stay open until November 30, 2023.
Stay tuned on December 1st when we announce our semi-finalists! On December 8th, we will record personalized videos with our semi-finalists and post their stories. We'll be asking for your help to select a winner by voting for the video you find most compelling before voting closes on Sunday, December 19th.
